The basic requirement for the J+J design team for the design of the Bavaria 42 Sport was to get optimum living and storage space out of a boat length of around 13 metres, paired with a Mediterranean touch, but not to neglect the sporty ambience.
You could describe it as modern, but not fashionable, when you set foot on the Bavaria 42 Sport for the first time. The lines are those of a sports cruiser, except that some of them seem a size larger than is usually the case at 42 feet. This is intentional, because one of the top points in the specifications of the Jakopin design office was an above-average amount of space on and below deck. They saw themselves face to face with a multitude of Italian competitors playing in this hotly contested league. 42 feet are considered a springboard to the upper class - those who are successful here have a chance of being noticed in the 50-foot class as well, which does not seem unrealistic at Bavaria. So it's no wonder that the Giebelstadt-based company is increasingly concentrating on the motorboat business.
