The basis for building this steel sailing yacht himself was the owner's many years of professional and thus professional qualification as a metal and steel builder (master locksmith) and welding specialist. With Van de Stadt's construction plans and the delivery of steel parts as a kit, the self-construction was carried out in a hall. During construction or removal, the owner paid particular attention to the arrangement of the inspection openings and to the fact that all built-in parts were as easily accessible as possible, also with a view to later repairs. 2006 Hanse 400e in epoxy resin, powered by a 40 hp Yanmar engine with saildrive, available for visits. The boat is equipped with weather radar, bowsprit and has four winches in the cockpit as well as two winches on the deckhouse. The sail plan includes a new mainsail with a rotor system replaced in 2025, a 105% jib in excellent condition, a self-tacking jib in good condition and a gennaker that has never been used, also in excellent condition. The interior, finished in light wood, offers a configuration with three cabins and two bathrooms. The aft bathroom is equipped with a separate shower cubicle and electric toilet, while the bow bathroom has a manual toilet. Both bathrooms are equipped with a black water tank. In August 2026, the sail-drive inverter was overhauled. The general condition of the hull is good, with some surface scratches without structural relevance. The teak of the external walkways is worn, while that of the cockpit is in good condition.
