Owner speaks : My wife and I had planned to sail for a few months each year, making our way to Tahiti where my daughter has settled, and then leaving the boat there. We were looking for a reliable and fast boat, where the thrill of gliding over the water would be part of the experience. The Pogo 44 immediately stood out as the obvious choice because it is an unsinkable boat, very fast yet simple to sail, with a robust, flawless build, and offering all the necessary comfort in a simple, light-filled design. What strikes you about this boat is the light: everything we love. We have fitted out Spirit for offshore cruising: increased fuel capacity and solar panels, a watermaker, a wind generator, radar, an IRIDIUM system, a reefable staysail on a detachable lower forestay. To get to grips with the boat, we sailed in the Mediterranean. The boat has always been perfectly maintained and has been wintered out of the water. Unfortunately, we had to abandon our project for health reasons.
