MOTOR YACHT GAIA has a history of great charm and interest behind it:
is a displacement shuttle built in the late 1950s at the German shipyard Schurenstedt and used by the Navy. Later it was converted into a yacht, at first modifying the layout of the interiors but keeping the external lines unchanged and, then, in the 90s work was also done again on the superstructure with the addition of volume at the stern and a flybridge. An owner, attracted by Gaia's classic lines, decided to bring it back to life by investing in a long project, entrusted to Alessio Liuni, an expert in the restoration of vintage boats. At the time of purchase, the shuttle had no equipment, except for the engines.
Structured on three decks, Gaia is organized with a dining area at the stern of which, from a circular staircase, you can access the lower deck, which houses two cabins and two bathrooms. From the aft saloon, continuing towards the bow, on the left is the galley and then the bridge in an elevated position. There is also the main saloon, with a second circular staircase leading to the lower deck, reserved for the owner's cabin (full beam) and VIP. The flybridge has a bimini and a large sunbathing area, as well as a second helm station and a 5-meter tender. On deck, towards the bow, there is also a sailing dinghy of over 4 meters. Also towards the bow a companionway leads to the crew area (with two cabins).
The interiors have been furnished with maple wood and champagne-colored pearly lacquers (walls and furniture), while for the floors the main deck is characterized by a wenge wood in strong contrast with that of the walls and the lower deck by biscuit-colored carpeting. The ceilings are in Alcantara.
From 2008 to 2010
The Yacht has undergone a complete restoration in Italy, where new interiors have been created (the current ones) curated by the architect Alessio Liuni and equipped with all modern comforts as well as the installation of new engines and generators.
