Timone Yachts Rimini
"The AB 116 fully respects the philosophy that has guided our production from the beginning: high technological content, high performance, great sailing comfort", explains Marco Arnaboldi, technical director of AB Yachts. And he continues: "The hull, very deep with a dihedral of 19 degrees at the stern, is very stable and easily withstands even the highest speeds." It is in fact a very fast boat: with three Mtu of 2600 horsepower coupled with MJP jets (or Rolls Royce-Kamewa) it reaches with ease 46 knots in principle, with a cruising regime of 40 knots and a range of 500 miles. And it is not an offshore bolide but a 36.20-meter cruising motoryacht, equipped with all the luxuries and comforts.
Built with the most advanced materials to ensure lightness and at the same time strength (fiberglass reinforced with kevlar and vacuum-consolidated Divinycell sandwiches), it has the tapered and harmonious lines of an open, underlined by a slightly golden iridescent livery, even if it has a generously sized flying, invisible from the outside. The interiors by Barbara Tognon, architect chosen by the owner.
Designed for long cruises, the AB 116 has two garages, one at the stern, very large, able to accommodate a tender of 5.40 meters and a jet ski, and one in the bow for a service dinghy or for an additional jet ski or, as in this case, as a stowage with wine cellar, extra freezers etc. As befits a purely Mediterranean boat like this, the outdoor spaces are very large, with a cockpit at the stern, equipped with a large sundeck and a dinette and a bowed lounge with a convivial area and another large sundeck, much appreciated for the privacy offered when you are moored in the ports with stern to the quay. A beautiful semicircular window gives access to the minivan lounge, with a conversation area with leather sofas, a smoking table, the 50" pop up television and a bar, as well as a dining table, with the fossil marble top, able to accommodate up to ten diners. A half bulkhead in the center, with a shaped cabinet inside to house dishes and cutlery, separates, but only at half height in order to guarantee the pilot a 360-degree view, the futuristic dashboard in carbon and brown leather, served by two adjustable armchairs.
The four guest cabins are concentrated in the middle of the lower deck, with the owner in full beam towards the stern, illuminated by four portholes and equipped with a desk / vanity and sofas; new solution of the retractable TV at the foot of the bed flanked by two padded benches. It is followed towards the bow by two doubles and the VIP, all with their bathroom. There is also a fifth single cabin, which can be used as a gym, study or playroom for children. The corridor that separates them has damask mirror walls alternating with leather panels and houses a piece of furniture with backlit onyx top. At the bow there is the crew area with independent access: truly complete and super-equipped kitchen and three double cabins. The essences chosen by the owner are basically wenge and oak that go well with the soft colors of the fabrics and leather in a contemporary, elegant and relaxed style. As for the flying, with the second wheelhouse, it has two immense sundecks and two joinable tables. Among the advantages of this yacht should be noted the perfect soundproofing, the total absence of vibrations and a plant at the highest levels. Very special is also the solution adopted at the stern, with a portion of the teak bathing dashboard that rises vertically to launch and wing the tenders on rollers on the surface of the water.
