Tugboat Hitzler (1957) For sale

Built in special HR steel by the Hiztler shipyard in 1957, the Polarfuchs is an icebreaker 32 meters above all.
Former government boat of the Federal Republic of Germany, it carried out for most of its life rescue and patrol service in the North Sea, having as its base the town of Cuxhaven near Hamburg at the mouth of the Elbe River.
The hull designed for a maximum speed of 17 knots is built with extreme skill: it is not a common tugboat but a multipurpose boat designed to intervene at any time and quickly.
The thicknesses of the plating and structures are impressive and from the latest ultrasonic analyzes of 2014 they do not show any reduction in thickness from the original project of 1957.
The remarkable width of 8.90 meters. combined with the high cruising speed make it extremely stable to roll, two fixed anti-roll wings complete the hull and make it even more pleasant to navigate.
The inboard engine, in perfect condition, is a 1980 Alfa/Mann of 10 V cylinders with double turbine from 1700 HP at 750 rpm. The power is exuberant and allows an easy cruising speed of 12 knots with a reduced consumption of about 110 Lt / h.
The 4-blade propeller, with variable pitch and controllable by the wheelhouse, allows an immediate choice of power distribution adapting it to the thrust needs in all sea conditions.

Keel
Displacement hull with a generous immersion, anti-roll side fins, bow start typical of icebreakers, great stability even at low speeds, cruising speed 12 knots at 600 rpm maximum speed 17 knots at medium load and 750 rpm. Consumption at cruising speed about 110 liters per hour engine plus about 10 liters hour service generator. Steel thicknesses documented in 2012 equal to the new. It is an icebreaker with plating thicknesses and ordered twice as much as another normal tugboat type work boat. The curb weight of bunkering was 350 T compared to about 200 T of a normal ocean tug of the same size.

Refitting
The shuttle has been completely stripped internally controlled and reconditioned where necessary, the structure is of a unique strength both in terms of thickness and construction quality, there are:

New electrical and pumping systems (diesel decanting, fire-fighting, engine oil circulation, exhaustion of black and grey water tanks, autoclaves, etc., etc.)

Part of internal joinery (made with RINA approved marine mahogany plywood)
Internal and external paintings (performed the interiors and all the deckhouses are missing dead work only hull and lower deck, we are in possession of a quote about the primary shipyard)
Interior design (available and delivered with the boat, interior project that includes 4 VIP cabins with full bathrooms, dinette with sofas and dining table, separate kitchen, communications and relaxation console, external deck equipped sundeck, cockpit, maneuvering fly and private sundeck, crew accommodation consisting of two double cabins, one single, two bathrooms, kitchen and table)
