The basis for building this steel sailing yacht himself was the owner's many years of professional and thus professional qualification as a metal and steel builder (master locksmith) and welding specialist. With Van de Stadt's construction plans and the delivery of steel parts as a kit, the self-construction was carried out in a hall. During construction or removal, the owner paid particular attention to the arrangement of the inspection openings and to the fact that all built-in parts were as easily accessible as possible, also with a view to later repairs. Fountaine Pajot Saona 47 in Maestro version, used and maintained in excellent condition, available for visits. The boat is in excellent condition, has been constantly cared for and updated and has benefited from a hull carried out in May 2025. It has solar panels, Fisher Panda generator, air conditioning in all cabins and in the dinette, 220V 50Hz main mains, 2,000 W charger/converter, additional 150 Ah AGM auxiliary battery, 12V low-consumption watermaker with 60 l/h output, 12V internal and external sockets, self-timer bilge pumps and pressurized seawater system. The galley is complete with a new hob with induction burners, multifunction oven, dishwasher with six place settings, 5 kg 220V washer/dryer, additional vertical freezer in addition to the one provided as standard, refrigerator in the cockpit and integrated gas plate in the stern, offering a livability of the highest level. The sail plan consists of a Full Batten horn mainsail with automatic mainsail hook, Lazy Jack, Lazy Bag, gennaker complete with spinnaker pole and related equipment, double stoppers for the return of second and third hand reefs, electric winch for the genoa sheet and electric winch for the mainsail halyards, ensuring simple and effective handling even with a small crew. 2006 Hanse 400e in epoxy resin, powered by a 40 HP Yanmar engine with saildrive, available for visits. The boat has undergone constant maintenance and major upgrade work in recent years, making it ready for sailing. In 2024, the cushions and curtains in the dinette were replaced. In 2025, the on-board instrumentation was completely updated with Raymarine Axiom 9 at the wheelhouse and Axiom 7 in the cockpit, also installing new NMEA wiring. In the same year, the saildrive membrane and all the saltwater pipes of the engine were replaced, a new jib roller drum was installed, the hull was brought to zero and a Starfurl boom by Veleria Viganò in Kevlar carbon with rolling system and a new mainsail were mounted. In 2026, the vang, 75 meters of galvanized anchor chain, sprayhood, bimini and engine heat exchanger were replaced. The boat is equipped with weather radar, bowsprit and has four winches in the cockpit as well as two winches on the deckhouse. The sail plan includes a new mainsail, a 105% jib in excellent condition, a self-tacking jib in good condition and a gennaker that has never been used, also in excellent condition. The interior, finished in light wood, offers a configuration with three cabins and two bathrooms. The aft bathroom is equipped with a separate shower cubicle and electric toilet, while the forward bathroom has a manual toilet. Both bathrooms are equipped with a black water tank. The general condition of the hull is good, with some surface scratches without structural relevance. The teak of the external walkways is worn, while that of the cockpit is in good condition. Thanks to the numerous maintenance interventions and major upgrades carried out in recent years, this Hanse 400e represents a reliable boat, well equipped and ready to face new navigations.
