Bavaria C38, first launch 4/23, little sailed, owner's ship, first hand, condition very good, partly much better than new, 92 engine hours (as of April 2026), shipyard maintained, sails surprisingly fast and stiff for a volume ship.

Okay, little sailed, what does that mean?

Delivery in November 2022 directly to the heated indoor warehouse, EW April 2023, the first season virtually not driven at all due to a professional project. Only 22 engine hours, 14 of which were on transfer trips.

Even in 2024, it did not go on a big trip. A few short weekend trips, that's it.

The first big family cruise through the Danish South Seas will not take place until 2025. Pleasing conclusion: Great ship for any weather, both for dad and for the family!

What is special about this steamer?

It's always like this: The family wants space, dad wants speed. With the C38, Bavaria has actually succeeded in creating a "fast spaceship". Even under standard sails, she runs at a relaxed speed of 8.5 knots at 90 degrees and 22 knots - unagitated and stable. With Code Zero and Gennaker, it adds a little more, not only the yacht testers have seen double-digit numbers on the log and certified the C38 characteristics similar to those of a performance cruiser.

But the real feature of the C38 is comfort.

Lush cockpit, in bad weather the bimini offers a covered terrace, large saloon, huge double berths (2 x 150/200 and 1 x 1.70 x 200), comfortable headroom (1.95m), chill area in the saloon (or additional berth, then you have 7 to 8 berths). Electric toilet, hot water, diesel heating, storage space really without end.

What the family crew particularly likes: Two people can work at the same time in the kitchen, there is room for 6 to 8 hungry people at the extended table, large refrigerator with front door, microwave and the carbon gangway (fits at the bow or stern) brings luggage. Dogs, children and visitors with knee problems are easy on board. The fat swim platform has sundeck potential, and the wide side decks can accommodate two inflated SUPs without overly restricting the space for sailing.

What dad likes: When it "locks in" at 20 degrees and just runs. The permanent code zero on furler, which can be rolled and left standing for days and nights. Makes even long trips so wonderfully fidgety-free. After casting off and a heap ride, simply roll out and off you go. And yes, even the electric wishes. You don't get any younger, not even as a skipper.

Let's get to what is probably the most important question: Why should it go?

Well, it shouldn't be. We love them. Actually, we had promised each other a "until the hurricane do us part". But unfortunately, sometimes health messes up the course. In this respect, we are approaching the idea of really giving them up. But you already know what that means: Only in good hands!

Winter berth and berth in the most beautiful Baltic Sea marina Heiligenhafen for us can probably be taken over.
